Experience is not always necessary as we are prepared to offer successful candidates care assistant training for free. It’s important that you have a desire to care for people and improve their quality of life. We expect a high standard of English language – written and spoken and strong communication skills.
We are looking for caring, compassionate and friendly individuals who are trustworthy, patient and kind. Being a live-in care assistant requires reliable, motivated people, who are resourceful in their approach to caring for others. Often you will need to adapt to situations as they arise but we are here to support you and ensure you have all the backing and reassurance to meet any challenges you may face. Ultimately, we need people who have a good heart.
Every live-in care placement takes into consideration the needs of the client and therefore is tailored to suit their requirements. Your placement will likely last for a period of weeks, after which there is the opportunity to take a break and enjoy a phase of leave.
Flexible working patterns are possible during extended placements, and permanent placements are also available.
We offer competitive rates of pay - up to £800 per week (depending on experience). Your accommodation and food will also be provided.
Yes, you will live with them in their own home providing round-the-clock support. With your help as a support worker they will be able to continue to live a fulfilling life in their own home.
Yes, all live in carers have their own bedroom in the client’s home. Food is included each week you are in placement or alternatively a food allowance is provided. You will receive ongoing support from a care manager to support you with any questions or issues.
All our live in carers are entitled to a two-hour break each day.
Following on from the online assessment course which covers the 15 care standards and the paid induction training course, all our live in carers receive free, ongoing social care training courses up to level 5. Additional training can also be provided to support our home care service clients with specific needs identified in their care plan such as dementia care. Yes, a care manager with substantial care experience and care skills is always available to discuss any aspect of the client’s care plan or anything else that you need support with.
A key ethos of Agincare as a care provider is to always personalise care plans to every client’s individual needs and preferences. The care plan contains detailed information about the client such as medication requirements and food preferences. This enables every support worker who has contact with the client to know their specific needs and preferences.
